Ready to vote in the presidential election?

Make sure you know the laws in your area!

Many people may be very excited to vote in the Presidential election, and with this they may want to document the experience. If you are one of these people and you live in Texas, be careful! It is illegal to take a picture, including a selfie, within 100 feet of a voting location.

As unfortunate as this may seem to some people, it is a rule that is intended to ensure the secrecy of your ballot so that there is not additional unfair pressure to vote a certain way.

You can still always post a picture of you with your “I Voted” sticker, or even with your absentee ballot! If you are not in Texas, check your state’s laws about photography at the polls for more information.

Whether you can document the experience or not, the most important thing you can do is go out and vote!
